Shaping the Future of Care Together
This is a very important issue, as the UK has a growing population of retired people, some of whom will need additional care and support in the future. Care is expensive, and the care provided ‘today’ is paid for by those who are working ‘today’. With the proportion of younger workers decreasing and of older people increasing, paying for care (and ensuring that you get the high quality of care that you would wish for) is something that should concern everyone.
To read the proposals you can look at the website : www.dh.gov.uk and follow the links to read the consultation and comment directly upon it. Alternatively you can request a printed copy of the proposals and then respond in writing.
The reference number is 295936. You can choose either the ‘easy-read’ version, or the full text of the Green Paper. The easy read is 67 pages (sounds a lot but there are pictures and much white space, and it’s a bit ‘Noddy’), whereas the full Green Paper runs to 136 pages (but goes into much more detail).
