Parish Plan

A Parish Plan is a community consultation exercise, and an opportunity for us to look at our concerns and interests, eventually producing a document that lays out the issues raised and the desired outcomes. It is important to remember that the Plan will not be simply a reference document - it should be reviewed and revised as our parish changes over the years.  A properly produced Parish Plan can be adopted by the District Council as Supplementary Planning Guidance, thus influencing the course of future developments in the parish.

A Parish Plan Group was set and consulted with the community throughout the course of the review.  If you would like to be involved at any stage of the project please contact the Chairman of the team: Gill Potter. Gill's phone number is 01395 567147 (please keep this to calls at sensible daytime hours), or email her on gill.sessions@btinternet.com

The Steering Group would like to thank the Parish Council, our County Councillor (Christine Channon) and the East Devon AONB Partnership for their support at all stages of the process.  Without the financial backing provided by these bodies the Steering Group could not have collated and analysed the results, and indeed to produce the Parish Plan document which is now under way.

July 2010
The questionnaires have now been collected and the work of collating the responses will get under way in August/September. Thank you to eveeryone who took the trouble to complete the form - your time and thought is appreciated.

May 2010

The questionnaire about local issues is due to be printed in May and distributed shortly thereafter. It is hoped that all households will respond so that their views can be taken into consideration in the plan.

January 2010
The open session on Saturday 16th January went well, with about 100 people visiting to talk about issues and record their comments and suggestions. Many interesting issues were raised on a range of topics from flooding to new developments, and the need for improved community facilities.

The Parish Plan Steering Group will meet shortly to collate and assess the responses.
