Queen's Diamond Jubilee Celebrations 2012
In June our Queen will be celebrating 60 years on the throne.
It has been estimated that the celebrations will cost around £5,000 to put on and the Jubilee Committee is organising various fund-raising activities to raise this money. A Jubilee Committee has formed and is working on events to celebrate the Jubilee in 2012. The Committee is a flexible group, co-opting members as and when different skills are needed. At present the membership includes: Bryan Woodley (Chairman), David Atkins (Secretary), Maureen Cook, Haylor Lass, Jane Sampson, Derek Simmonds, Ann Swain, Geraldine Swan, Richard Swann, Sheila Tweed, Barbara Vernon, Sandy Wallace, Margaret Woodley, David Zirker, Rosemary Zirker
To raise funds towards the cost of these celebrations they are arranging various events over the next few months and hope that everyone will support these activities.

Friday 1st June 2012 Royal Variety Show
In the marquee on the playing field, starting at 7.30pm
Saturday 2nd June Royal Parade, starting 2.15pm to arrive at Playing Field at 3.00pm
Join the parade as it passes - Wear fancy Dress, or red/ white /blue, or Royal theme
Bring (and use!) musical instruments or noisemakers!
Sideshows, games, distribution of Jubilee mugs to children, in afternoon
8.00pm Royal Ball in the marquee. Band and bar - bring your own nibbles
Sunday 3rd June Royal Lunch in the marquee, from 12.30
6.30-7.30pm Evening Church Service: Songs of Praise, in the marquee
Monday 4th June Barbeque at Harpford
The Big Noise! Under 20s evening - live music from local bands
Volunteer Bands Wanted! Please offer your services!!

JUBILEE MUGS
The Parish Council will be giving free commemorative mugs to residents of the parish
who are up to 16 years old.
A register of young people is being compiled by the Jubilee Committee, so if you qualify
please get yourself registered as soon as possible. Details required are:
