Pavilion and Playing Field

The Pavilion and playing field are located at the eastern end of the village, accessed from Back Lane. Sports facilities are available on a large playing field, along with a multi-use games area with goal-posts, and a great play area for small children.

Pavilion

The Pavilion is suitable for a wide range of events, e.g. private parties, public meetings, charitable and fundraising events, child-based activities, keep-fit and dance classes, lectures, quiz nights, bridge competitions, weddings, christenings and corporate events.

The Pavilion can be hired for hourly or longer periods and has recently benefitted from a new commercial kitchen, which is fully equipped.

The hall can accommodate 100+ people seated. It is fully licensed for public entertainment.

There are changing rooms and shower facilities for sports teams.

Playing Field

The field area is well-used for football in cooler months, and cricket in the summer. There are 2 tennis courts on the playing field, which are run by the Tennis Club. Community events are held on the playing field from time to time, including, Jubilee celebrations, bonfire night and music events.

There is a Dog Control Order that places a total ban on all dogs using the Playing Field. The field is well-used by children playing, and cricket and football teams, so the dog ban is in place to protect all human users from the potential adverse health effects of skin contact with dog faeces. The Dog Warden is authorised to prosecute those who infringe this bylaw.

Parking

There are two car parks, one at the Pavilion and one at the playground/Tennis Courts
