Citizens Advice East Devon
Ottery Help Scheme
Ottery Help Scheme is available to help people get to and from doctors' surgeries, dentists, opticians, hospitals etc. Volunteer drivers from the area have been vetted by the scheme and will pick you up from your door and take you to and from your appointment. The suggested donation for a round trip to/from Ottery St Mary for residents of Newton Poppleford is £14 and from Newton Poppleford to Exeter is £18.
If you need a car and driver please book in advance by calling 01404 813041.
The scheme is always looking for more drivers! So if you are willing to help out occasionally please call Jane on 01404 813041. Drivers will be reimbursed for fuel costs.
Ring & Ride
The ring and ride service is available to residents of the parish. The minibus will collect you from your home and take you to Tesco at Exmouth to do your shopping, bringing you home afterwards. The shopping trips take place on Tuesdays collecting passengers at about 11.30am, returning home at about 1.30pm. Ring & Ride is a registered charity and charges £3.60 for a single or return journey.
